JLG – A New Perspective

Elevating engagement through a hybrid approach

As one of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of powered access plant equipment, JLG are used to showing their customers and suppliers a different way of working. When they wanted to take a more sustainable, innovative approach to showcasing their latest equipment and offerings, we developed the solution together.

Replacing their presence at a prominent construction trade show, our hybrid event created the opportunity to connect with customers in a more sustainable and innovative way.

To highlight this bold, different approach, the creative theme ‘A New Perspective’ was developed to connect the virtual world with the live event and construct the audience experience around.

The virtual world was developed in a way that focused on the user exploring new perspectives – whether that's taking in a wider view from the gallery windows, or even looking down from up on the equipment through a ‘user’s-view’.

Each zone in the virtual world was designed to have a different look and feel and featured life-like 3D models. An auditorium was created to showcase film content – such as thorough product walkthroughs - and meeting rooms enabled conversations with customers.

With sustainability at the heart, together we devised an event space that would become a permanent feature at the JLG HQ. And just like the virtual world, elements can be added on as event requirements change and grow.

Delegates entered the ‘A New Perspective’ event via an immersive tunnel, before exploring a cinema and a series of interactive zones focusing on Electrification, low-level access and an outdoor product display area.

The event ran for two weeks and also included community days for local schools, colleges and universities.


"This was an incredible project to work on and the largest of the year in terms of the volume of output. We created 27 films for the virtual world and became experts on all things scissor lifts. It was more sustainable for us to travel to the Netherlands and film these ginormous pieces of machinery, rather than exporting them all to the UK."
